Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Sammi and Zach's engagement session at Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The stunning backdrop of red rocks and vibrant greenery set the stage for a magical day, and I can't wait to capture more of their love story at their wedding.

As they strolled through the park, Sammi and Zach's chemistry was a joy to capture. They walked hand in hand by the lake, sharing jokes and laughter. When couples are themselves during the engagement session it makes their connection and love easy to capture. With Sammi and Zach doing just that I thought I would share tips to help guide your engagement session:

  1. Be Yourselves: The session is about capturing your unique relationship, so feel free to express your personality and enjoy the experience together.

  2. Natural Interaction: Instead of focusing on posed shots, engage in natural interactions. Whether it's a gentle touch, a shared laugh, or a sweet moment, these candid interactions often result in the most heartfelt and genuine photographs.

  3. Forget About the Camera: Focus on each other, share stories, and enjoy the moment without feeling pressured to constantly pose.

  4. Explore the Location Together: Turn the engagement session into a mini-adventure. Whether it's strolling hand in hand or exploring a scenic area, interact naturally as you explore the surroundings. This not only creates beautiful images but also lasting memories.

  5. Express Affection: Celebrate your love. Express affection—whether it's a gentle kiss, a hug, or a loving gaze. These moments add emotion and depth to the photographs.

  6. Embrace Imperfections: Imperfections are part of what makes your connection unique and beautiful. Perfectly posed shots are not always necessary; sometimes, the genuine, imperfect moments tell a more compelling story.

  7. Have Fun: Most importantly, an engagement session is meant to be a fun and enjoyable experience. Laugh, love, and turn it into a perfect excuse for a date night after!

Sammi and Zach, thank you for choosing me to be your photographer for your big day, I can't wait to capture your wedding!
